A woman has died and another remains seriously injured following a stabbing at a property.
Police were called to Ellson Close in Newtown, Ashford, at 1.43pm yesterday following reports of an assault.
Emergency services, including paramedics and the air ambulance, attended the scene where two women were found with injuries consistent with stab wounds.
A woman in her 50s was confirmed dead later that day.
A second woman, in her 30s, was taken to a London hospital where she remains in a serious but stable condition.
Police say the women were known to each other, and they are not currently looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
The investigation will now be led by the coroner, with support from officers in the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate.
A cordon was in place around the property in Ellson Close yesterday and was being guarded by officers.
The air ambulance landed at Hythe Road recreation ground at about 1.20pm.
At the time, police said both women had sustained injuries believed to be life-threatening.
No arrests have been made, and officers are no longer searching for a suspect in connection with the incident.
