KENT police today appealed for witnesses to an horrific crash on the M20 at Ashford that claimed the life of a woman from Margate.

Nicola Steele was thrown from a vehicle that crossed all three lanes of the London-bound motorway near junction 10 and spun into crash barriers. The accident happened shortly before 5.30pm last night.

The trunk route was closed for almost six hours for wreckage to be moved and for investigations to be carried out.

Police are appealing for witnesses to contact their nearest station with any information.
