Workman killed in M20 horror

A MOTORWAY worker was killed on the M20 today after becoming trapped beneath a maintenance vehicle.

The accident happened at about 9.30am on the London-bound carriageway of the M20, just west of junction nine, the Ashford turn-off. Kent Fire Brigade were called to release him and the Kent Air Ambulance also attended, but the victim died at the scene.

Inspectors from the Health and Safety Executive have been called in to investigate.

The motorway remains closed at present with London-bound traffic being diverted on to the A20 at junction nine.
