By Dan Wright

Mindless yobs hurled rocks at police cars in Ashford town centre.

Officers are investigating after three vehicles - including two patrol cars - were damaged at the police station in Tufton Street.

The rocks were thrown into the rear yard behind the station between midday and 2pm on Saturday.

Insp Jason Atkinson said: "It is fortunate no one was in the cars at the time the rocks were thrown, or there could have easily been serious injuries.

"I would urge anyone who may have seen anything, or knows who is responsible, to contact us on 01843 222289, quoting 30-0621."
