Ashford’s new on-loan strikeforce could be set for summer moves to Homelands.
Daniel Ajakaiye and Sid Sollis both made their United debuts against Cray on Saturday with Ajakaiye scoring both goals in a 2-1 win.
He’s on loan from Kingstonian while Sollis, who played for Hythe earlier this season, has joined the Nuts & Bolts from Margate.
Both are on month-loan deals initially but manager Jason Whitmore hasn’t ruled out permanent moves for the pair.
He said: “With Daniel and Sid, we’re looking at them to see whether or not, come the end of the season, we could make them part of our plans.
“It’s month-by-month with Sid and for Daniel, it’s all down to Kingstonian and what they want to do. If we can keep them until the end of the season, we’ll see what Kingstonian say at the end.
“I’ve know Sid for a long time and (assistant manager) Gary Alexander has known Daniel. We’ve been trying to get Sid for probably five weeks on loan from Margate. I’ve been speaking to Steve Watt but they just couldn’t release him because they had injuries.
“Even though he’s a young lad, he’s strong and I like him a lot. He did well at Hythe and Clive Cook didn’t want to lose him.
“He’s a good prospect for the future, we’ve got him on loan and we’ll see what happens at the end of the season.
“I’ve known Sid since I’ve been coaching youth levels, so we’ve always come up against him. We used to have good battles and I’ve got to know him well. I’m glad we added him in.
“Dan’s the sort of character you want in the dressing-room and I’m looking forward to the next 10 games as the transition period finally comes to a head.
“Hopefully, we’ll have a team ready for next season, most of it in place.”
