Margate agree to play games at Ashford

ASHFORD Town Football Club are to share their Homelands Stadium with Conference side Margate until the end of the year.

The Town were hosts to the Thanet club last season on a couple of occasions while Margate were trying to sort out their problems with getting a revamped Hartsdown Stadium project off the ground.

Initally the ground sharing agreement will run until December 2004 while work starts on Margate's new ground, but may be extended depending on the progress of the work at Hartsdown Park.

Ashford chief executive Mark Jenner said that Ashford were pleased to welcome their football friends from Margate who were still experiencing difficult time and that the addition income generated from the arrangement would be used to further strengthen the Ashford team in its inaugural campaign in the Ryman League.
