Cocaine and firearm seized by police following raid in Bromley

A gun and a quantity of drugs were seized by police after they raided a home in Bromley.

Two people were arrested after the firearm was discovered in Camlan Road.

Officers from the Met's Specialist Crime Command raided the home yesterday evening.

They executed a search warrant issued under Section 46 of the Firearms Act.

During the search, officers found a quantity of cocaine hidden under floorboards beneath the stairs of the property.

In the back garden, a revolver was found concealed in a metal storage container.

A 37-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man were arrested at the address on suspicion of possession of a Class A drug with intent to supply and possession of a firearm.

'I wholeheartedly believe this firearm would have gone on to seriously injure, or even kill someone....'

They were taken to a south London police station where they remain in custody.

The firearm was made safe and has been sent off for testing.

DI Tom Williams, from the from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, said: "This was a targeted operation and resulted in a deadly firearm being taken off of our streets.

"I wholeheartedly believe this firearm would have gone on to seriously injure, or even kill someone.”
