A bus driver has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after a nine-year-old girl was killed.
Ada Bicakci was taken to hospital after a bus collided with two children in Bexleyheath last summer but sadly later died from her injuries.
Yesterday, Martin Asolo-Agogua, 23, of Nunhead, was charged with causing death by dangerous driving, causing death by careless driving when under influence of drink or drugs and driving whilst over the drug limit.
Police were called to the scene in Watling Street near the junction with Halcot Avenue on the morning of Saturday, August 3 2024.
Ada’s brother was also hit in the crash but was not seriously injured.
Despite the best efforts of medical staff, the nine-year-old girl sadly died on Monday, August 5.
Her family continue to be supported by specialist officers.
On the day of the incident, Asolo-Agogua, who was driving the bus, had been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury through dangerous driving and drug driving.
Following the charges, he has been bailed and is due to attend Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 24 March.
Turkish-British national Ada had lived in the area with her family and was a keen gymnast and swimmer.
She attended a local primary school, as well as a Turkish school in south-east London.
