Met Police appeal after robbery on London bus in Bexleyheath

A teenager was reportedly threatened by man who stole cash from him on a bus.

Police are investigating the incident which took place in Bexleyheath.

Detectives have today released CCTV pictures from the bus of a man they wish to speak to who they believe can help with inquiries.

The 89 route bus was travelling in the Broadway area when the robbery took place on August 28, 2020.

A 17-year-old boy travelling on the upper deck reported he was confronted by a man who threatened to stab him.

The victim, who was not injured, handed over money and the suspect alighted the bus at Ruskin Drive.

Officers from the Met Police Roads and Transport Policing Command are investigating.

They have carried out a number of enquiries to trace the man, and have now released a CCTV image in the hope that someone will come forward and identify him.

The suspect is a black man who was wearing a blue hoodie at the time of the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting reference CAD 5533/28AUG20.
