A weed dealer whose home was raided by police has narrowly avoided jail after admitting supplying the drug.
Officers found 2kg of the class B narcotic in a shed at Alfred Truni’s home in Orpington in November last year.
When they searched the 45-year-old’s home they also found £8,000 in cash.
Truni, of Cranleigh Close, Orpington, admitted possession of a class B drug with the intent to supply when he appeared in court in December.
At the time he denied another charge of possessing criminal property, namely the cash, but when he appeared at Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, January 28, he changed his plea to guilty.
Deputy District Judge Nicola Fleck heard police found the cannabis at his home on November 30.
James Nichols, prosecuting, said: “Two kilos of cannabis were found in his shed and £8,000 was found in his home.
“We say it’s supplying for financial gain.”
Judge Fleck decided to order an all-options pre-sentencing report to be carried out on Truni before he was sentenced and she adjourned the case until February 24.
Truni then appeared at Margate Magistrates’ Court on that day to hear his fate.
He was jailed for 240 days for the offences but the term was suspended for 12 months.
He must also wear a GPS tag for six months and complete 200 hours of unpaid work and attend 25 rehabilitation sessions.
Magistrates also ordered the cash and the drugs forfeited along with several mobile phones and sim cards.
Truni was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £154 and £85 court costs and will pay the amount in full within two months.
