Welling United announce four new arrivals including Folkestone Invicta's former Gillingham defender Finn O'Mara

Folkestone defender Finn O’Mara is among four new signings at Welling.

The former Gills youngster has joined the Wings on a month-long loan deal, with Invicta’s Isthmian League campaign suspended due to Covid.

O’Mara has made more than 70 appearances for Neil Cugley’s side, having initially joined on loan from the Gills, where he made his professional debut as a 17-year-old.

Wings boss Brad Quinton has also moved for Bishop’s Stortford left-back Sam Mvemba.

The defender joined Stortford last summer, having been part of the Aveley side who reached the FA Trophy quarter-finals.

Harvey Brand has returned for a second spell at Park View Road after featuring in a 5-1 friendly win over Erith & Belvedere.

Defender Brand is much-travelled, playing for Welling Town, Thamesmead, Whyteleafe, Margate and Beckenham since his first stint with the Wings.

Welling have also signed David Hughes from Aveley as goalkeeper cover.

The four new boys join other recent arrivals, Cray duo Rhys Murrell-Williamson and prolific striker Joe Taylor.

Welling are due in National League South action at Oxford City this Saturday.

They haven’t played since losing 2-0 at home to Oxford in the FA Trophy on December 15.

Their last league game was a 1-0 defeat by Chippenham on December 12.
