Traffic after crashes on A2 near Bridge

Delays have cleared on the A2 after two crashes involving a total of six vehicles.

Three collided on the coast-bound carriageway near Bridge at around 8.30am.

Shortly after, there was another accident involving three vehicles on the London-bound side at the same spot.

Police, ambulance and fire crews were called to the scene, between the A2050 for Bridge and the A260 Old Dover Road.

Firefighters used hydraulic rescue equipment to free one person trapped in the wreckage, who was taken to the William Harvey Hospital.

Two others described as "walking wounded" were treated at the scene for minor injuries.
