Suspected drug-dealer arrest in Swanscombe sparks police raid 39 miles away in St George’s Place, Canterbury

An arrest of a suspected drug dealer sparked a police raid of a home 39 miles away, where officers uncovered cocaine.

Officers stopped a car in Stanhope Road, Swanscombe, yesterday afternoon, where they apprehended a suspect.

This sparked a raid on a home on the other side of the county at Charter House in St George’s Place, Canterbury.

Police vehicles were spotted in the car park behind the new development yesterday.

A force spokesman said: “At about 2.30pm yesterday, police officers stopped a car in Stanhope Road, Swanscombe, and arrested a 21-year-old man on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.

“A subsequent search of a property in St George’s Place, Canterbury, resulted in officers seizing a quantity of what is believed to be cocaine.

“The arrested man remains in custody pending further inquiries.”
