House fire in Bekesbourne Lane, Canterbury, destroys bedroom

Sixteen firefighters tackled a house blaze which destroyed a bedroom.

Crews in three fire engines rushed to Bekesbourne Lane in Canterbury just before 7pm last night.

The fire was extinguished by 7.20pm

They extinguished the blaze but not before they could not stop a bedroom from being engulfed in flames.

The family evacuated the property before the fire teams arrived, and Red Cross workers provided emotional support.

The cause of the incident is not yet known.
