Motorcyclist dies after crash on A257 Roman Road in Shatterling near Wingham

A motorcyclist in his 30s has tragically died after a crash on a busy route.

The incident happened on the A257, Roman Road in Shatterling, between Wingham and Ash, at about 8.30am today.

A Yamaha motorbike was involved in a collision with a grey Lexus car.

Emergency services attended and the rider, a man in his 30s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The route remained shut for several hours following the incident, but reopened shortly after 4pm.

An appeal for witnesses has now been launched.

A police spokesman said: “Our serious collision investigation unit is carrying out enquiries and urge anyone who saw what happened or has relevant dashcam footage to contact them.
