Body found near Whitehall Road, Canterbury, in search for missing Dylan Baylis, 26, as police tape off area of Hambrook Marshes

A body has been found in the search for a missing 26-year-old man, police have confirmed.

Dylan Baylis had last been seen in Rheims Way, Canterbury, on May 15 at 9pm.

His disappearance sparked pleas for his safe return with police offering multiple updates during the weeks-long search.

Officers were called to Hambrook Marshes off Whitehall Road in Canterbury this afternoon, where a wooded area was taped off with forensics teams on site.

It has now been confirmed a man was pronounced dead at the scene, with the family of Mr Baylis informed.

The death is not currently being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner.

CCTV footage had shown that Mr Baylis, from Canterbury, was seen in Rheims Way at 9pm on Thursday, May 15.

Previous CCTV enquiries also captured him in Whitehall Road at about 11.10am on the same day.
