Canterbury: Five Guys opens in St Peter's Street

Burger joint Five Guys has opened its doors for the first time in Canterbury.

The American chain, which announced it was coming to the city in July, has set up shop in the former Friendly Phil's unit in St Peter's Street.

The new opening comes after the Westwood Cross branch closed at the end of last month.

Workmen have been kitting out the venue throughout the summer while bosses at the firm recruit employees.

The burger chain, which started up in the 1980s, is rapidly growing in size across the UK after opening more than 1,000 restaurants in North America.
