Canterbury Rugby Club completed a league and cup double by defeating Westcombe Park 22-14 in the Kent Cup final at Medway RFC on Sunday.

Although the National League 3 London & South East champions trailed 9-0 early on to three penalties from Park's Luke Giles, Canterbury gradually took control through their superior pack and they hit back to lead 12-9 at half-time through a penalty try, converted by Will Hilton, and an unconverted try by Max Cantwell.

Replacement Paul Brown then added Canterbury's third try with his first touch of the ball and Hilton added the conversion for 19-9.

Hilton was then yellow carded for a technical offence and Park were able to reduce the deficit to 19-14 with an unconverted try by Luke Maybank.

But, after returning to the action, Hilton completed the scoring as Canterbury added the Kent Cup to their league title.
