Child hit by vehicle in Old Dover Road, Canterbury

A child has been taken to hospital after being involved in a collision with a car.

Emergency services were at Old Dover Road, Canterbury, at around 8am between B2068 St Lawrence Road and the A28 Rhodaus Town ring road.

The child was assessed and treated at the scene before being taken to hospital with leg injuries.

The road is believed to be open but partially blocked with heavy traffic due to the incident.

Stagecoach tweeted this morning: "There has been an accident in Old Dover Road involving a child. Emergency services are attending."

The firm is warning people to expect delays following the news.

A spokesperson for Kent Police said: "Kent Police was called 7.57am on 6 December 2022, to a collision involving a car and a pedestrian in Old Dover Road, Canterbury.

"Officers and ambulance crews attended and a child was taken to hospital with leg injuries."
