Delays after accident on A28 Ashford Road, Chartham

A pedestrian suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car in Chartham.

It happened on the A28 Ashford Road at around 5.15pm.

The road was initially blocked in both directions while emergency services dealt with the aftermath.

A police spokesman said: "Serious injuries have been reported.

"Officers are at the scene and road closures are in place while the incident is attended to."
