Five arrested after assault at Canterbury bus station in St George’s Lane

Five people have been arrested after a teenager was injured in the head during an attack at a bus station, while two women were also assaulted.

The attack happened at the hub in St George’s Lane, Canterbury shortly after 10pm on December 28 last year.

The victim, a man in his late teens, was approached by a group of people who spoke to him before knocking him to the ground and assaulting him.

His mobile phone was also damaged by offenders during the assault and he sustained head injuries which required hospital treatment.

Two women were also assaulted but did not sustain any injuries.

Officers attended and following a search of the area, arrested five people in connection with the incident. A 17-year-old boy, three boys aged 16 and a 33-year old man were all released on bail until March.

As part of the continuing enquiries into the assault, officers believe there may be a number of potential witnesses who have yet to speak to police and are urging anyone who saw the incident to call them.
