St Lawrence & Highland Court looked poised to derail Hartley Country Club’s Shepherd Neame Kent League title challenge on Saturday – but Min Patel had other ideas.

The Hartley skipper and former Kent spinner took 5-32 as St Lawrence, requiring only 154 to win, were bowled out for 120 in 31.4 overs.

Earlier Richard Keir had claimed 3-47 for St Lawrence as they dismissed the strong Hartley batting line-up for 153.

Luke Samarasinghe played a prominent role for Division 1 relegation-threatened Canterbury as they gained a winning draw against third-placed Hythe.

Samarasinghe (54) and Donald Carter (67 not out) were the chief contributors as Canterbury made 194 all out and he then took 3-21 off 11 overs to help restrict Hythe to 143-7 in reply.
