Children can try their hand at a range of sports - from judo to combat archery - at a free event being held in Canterbury.
Rugby, football, taekwondo, boxing, wrestling, cricket and wheelchair rugby will also be among the activities youngsters can turn up and take part in.
Give it a Go! aims to show families how they can adopt more active lifestyles and improve their wellbeing through sport.
The event at Canterbury Rugby Club on Saturday, July 12 - open to children of all ages and abilities aged four to 18 - will showcase a range of different sports children and teens may be tempted to try.
Alongside the clubs running short classes will be food and drink to buy, community stalls and the chance to meet members of the emergency services. .
A dedicated quiet zone will also be available for children with special educational needs and disabilities on the ground floor of the Kent MS Centre.
No pre-booking is required, say the council, families can simply come along between 10am and 4pm and sign-up on the day.
You also don’t need to be a Canterbury district resident to attend the event.
A free bus service will run every 30 minutes starting at 9.30am from Canterbury bus station to the rugby club, and the last bus leaving the rugby club will be 4.30pm.
The event is being organised by The Purple Partnership, made up of of local sports providers and businesses, and led by the council and Kent Police, with the aim of providing life skills to young people, intoducing them to sports they may not have had the opportunity to try and delivering events open to all.
