Paul Hollywood's ex-wife Alex denies verbally abusing former husband's girlfriend Summer Monteys-Fullam in M&S Foodhall in Canterbury

The ex-wife of Great British Bake Off presenter Paul Hollywood has denied verbally abusing her former husband's new girlfriend in a supermarket.

Alex Hollywood, 54, refuted any suggestion she had used choice words when she crossed paths with Summer Monteys-Fullam, 23, at the M&S Foodhall in Canterbury.

Miss Monteys-Fullam is understood to be sharing a £1 million 18th century period farmhouse bought by her new partner Paul Hollywood after the TV personality split with his wife of nearly 20 years in November 2017.

Police confirmed they were called to reports of a "disturbance" in Vauxhall Road, Canterbury, after the meeting last Tuesday.

A representative of Alex denied she had verbally abused Miss Monteys-Fullam but confirmed the pair met.

The statement read: “Alex was shocked to bump into Summer in her local supermarket but even in that difficult situation, she still did not and would not ever verbally abuse anyone.

“Alex has kept a dignified position throughout the last 14 months which have been extremely challenging, and continues to do so.”

Alex, who has written her own cookbooks, accused Hollywood of adultery in divorce papers without naming Miss Monteys-Fulla, pictured, below left.

He and Miss Monteys-Fullahave always maintained their relationship started after the marriage breakdown.

Alex also took to Twitter to put across her side of the story.

She said: "Anyone who knows me will realise this report of an incident in Canterbury, is not how I behave and those are not my words.

"Uncorroborated Untruths [sic] and 'anonymous' letters only serve to fuel the unpleasant stories generated about the very distressing breakdown of my marriage.

"I will continue to stand tall, continue to be me, keep my integrity and to remember "this too shall pass"..."

TV star Hollywood has yet to comment on the incident.

He put his Grade I-listed medieval home in Wingham, near Canterbury, on the market for £795,000 two years ago.

Police say officers received a report of a disturbance in Vauxhall Road at about 4pm.

Inquiries were carried out and all parties involved were given words of advice.
