Canterbury: House fire in Sturry Road

A man has been treated for smoke inhalation as firefighters continue to tackle a blaze at a home in Canterbury.

Three fire engines were called to Sturry Road at around 1.15pm and remain at the scene.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus used high-pressure hose reel jets and a main jet to extinguish the fire.

A man, believed to be in his 30s, has been given oxygen therapy at the scene.

There are no reports of any other injuries and the cause of the fire is currently unknown.

The majority of the property is heavily affected by smoke damage.

There are some traffic delays in the area.
