Hundreds of homes have been without water all day after a mains pipe burst in sub-zero temperatures.
Scores of residents in part of Canterbury have faced the problem since the early hours, while others are dealing with very low pressure.
The CT1 1WB postcode is affected, including Querns Road, part of Military Road, Spring Lane, Howe Green and Royal Parade.
Cllr Connie Nolan (Lab), who represents the Barton ward, says she is "very concerned".
"I know some people have no water and some people have very little pressure," she said.
"I have spoken with South East Water about residents who may be vulnerable.
"Their advice is to call 0333 000 0365 and register as a vulnerable resident and its customer support team will supply bottled water.
"They don’t know when the water will be back to normal but they are hoping it will be restored today."
In a statement, South East Water apologised for a lack of information about the issue.
It initially said a pipe had frozen, but now says the problem has been caused by a “non-visible burst water main”.
“We're really sorry to our customers with no water or low water pressure,” it said.
“The freezing weather conditions make pinpointing the burst main's location significantly harder.
“Our specialist teams remain on site working to find the exact location of the burst.
“Bottled water is available for those affected. It is located at Canterbury Golf Club and Driving Range (in Littlebourne Road).
“We will update you as soon as we have more information. If you spot any leaks please call us on 0333 000 0365.”
Temperatures in the city will remain below zero overnight, with Kent Highways gritting all primary routes across the county.
