A strong police response descended on a village amid concerns a suspect had caused criminal damage to a house.
Officers in about six marked cars were scrambled to Hersden near Canterbury following reports of a disturbance just before 8am this morning.
When police arrived at The Avenue, the man is understood to have absconded, prompting the force to scour the village.
He was soon located in The Sycamore, a side street in the village’s centre.
A police spokeswoman said: “The suspect was not at the scene when officers arrived, but following a search, he was located nearby and arrested.
“The 36-year-old was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and remains in custody.”
