Canterbury groom-to-be taped to traffic lights wearing thong and suspenders in stag-do prank

This is the hilarious moment a helpless groom-to-be fell victim to a stag-do prank that saw him taped to traffic lights - wearing just a thong and suspenders.

Canterbury lad Jack Wilkins, 32, left little to the imagination after his mates tied him up at a town centre junction and captured the ordeal on video.

The welder, who is getting married on August 25, can be seen grinning and laughing away as bewildered cars and locals watch on.

He was put on public display for 45 minutes during his stag-do with 15 mates in Basildon, Essex, last Thursday.

"It was far from traumatic, I enjoyed every minute of it," he said.

"It’s what a stag do’s about. I thought it was going to be a lot worse than that. I thought they were going to put me in high-heels.”

Jack arrived at the gang's local pub - The Beehive - at 11am, where best man Joe gave him his outfit for the day - a thong, suspenders, socks and sandals.

The mastermind behind the prank, Aaron Shinnik, 36, said: "We got to our local pub and it all started from getting a four-pint pitcher filled up with Jack Daniels and amaretto.

"Jack refused to drink it so we said you've got to do a forfeit and get your nipple pierced but the piercing guy was fully booked.

"The best man, Joe, suggested we tie him to the post outside the pub until the minibus arrived to take us to the races.

"We got the two biggest guys in the pub to pick him up and carry him to the traffic lights, then we taped him up.

"In Basildon it was just normal for some reason. People were stopping to have photos with him.

"A police car stopped the traffic and they were wetting themselves, they said it's hilarious but they've got to stop it because he could cause an accident at the junction."

After Jack's public ordeal his mates dressed him up as a jockey and the group headed off to Epsom races.

Aaron said that Jack's fiancee Stacey Gardiner, 31 had "loved" the stag's antics. The couple are due to marry in Canterbury on August 25.

He said: "We've been crying about how popular it's been. She was absolutely loving it.

"Some of the boys are saying we should tie Jack to the alter at his wedding."

Aaron has since launched a petition calling for Jack to turn on the town's Christmas lights while donning his thong and suspenders costume.

The petition has amassed more than 250 signatures since it was started yesterday. It can be viewed here.
