Men arrested on suspicion of rape as police tape off Church Street St Paul's in Canterbury

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of rape - as police cordoned off a city centre street.

Police were called just after 3am on Sunday to report a woman had been raped in Church Street St Paul's, Canterbury , earlier in the evening.

Officers attended the scene and following enquiries arrested two men, aged 28 and 25, on suspicion of rape.

Police remained at the scene throughout Sunday, as they carried out enquiries.

Church Street St Paul's - a short street runs between the city's ring road and Monastery Street - was cordoned off at both ends.

The men arrested have now been bailed until September 29 and 30, respectively.
