Mobility scooter spotted on A2 between Canterbury and Dover

Motorists did double takes as a mobility scooter was spotted moseying along a busy dual carriageway.

The vehicle, which has a maximum speed of 8mph, was pictured on the A2 between Canterbury and Dover, as cars and vans sped past earlier today.

One video clip shows the daring driver - keeping cool in shorts and short-sleeved shirt - joining coastbound traffic on the dual carriageway from the Bridge slip-road.

Class 3 mobility scooters are banned from motorways, bus lanes and cycle-only lanes, according to gov.uk.

It is also advised that owners should "avoid using dual carriageways with a speed limit of over 50mph".

The limit on the A2 is 70mph.

Mobility scooters users must also "use an amber flashing light for visibility" if on dual carriageways.

During a similar incident on the same stretch of road last year, police were called to help guide an elderly man to safety.
