Iceland to open third Canterbury supermarket inside The Range next month

An opening date has been revealed for Canterbury's third Iceland store.

The supermarket chain is taking up residence inside The Range, on the City Retail Park off Vauxhall Road.

Iceland, which has an existing store just a hundred yards away over the opposite side of Sturry Road as well as a branch in Wincheap, is scheduled to open next month.

It will launch on Friday, March 19.

While the aisles welcome customers next month, a new family cafe and outdoor garden centre are both in the pipeline as part of a proposed extension to the store.

The developments would see The Range expand into the vacant former Harveys store next door.

Both Iceland and The Range teamed up two years ago to form a “strategic alliance”, with the supermarket chain since cropping up in dozens of new in-store locations.

The Canterbury plans were first hatched back in autumn 2019.

The supermarket will operate 9am until 8pm Monday to Saturday, and 10.30am to 4.30m on Sundays.
