Pavers to open new Canterbury shoe store in place of Jones Bootmaker

National footwear chain Pavers is opening a new store in Canterbury next weekend.

The firm, which has a number of outlets inside Kent garden centres and shopping complexes, is taking on the Jones Bootmaker unit halfway down the city's high street.

The store is already leased by Pavers as the company owns Jones Bootwear.

A decision to switch brands was taken after listening to feedback from customers and staff.

Pavers previously had a presence in the city, when it had a concession within the now-closed Nasons department store.

The new shop, which stands on the junction with White Horse Lane, will continue to employ staff who worked at Jones Bootmaker.

It will open for the first time at 9am on Saturday, January 15.

Area manager Shalim Miah said: “We are committed to providing quality footwear across all our brands, and are very pleased to reintroduce the Pavers brand to Canterbury city centre.

"We believe new and existing Pavers customers will love our focus on designing comfortable shoes without compromising on style.”

The site was once home to the Fleur de Lys Inn.
