Two charged with robbery after man injured during 'assault' in Wincheap, Canterbury

Two people are due in court after a man suffered facial injuries during an alleyway attack.

The victim, aged in his 20s, was reportedly assaulted in an alley near Gordon Road in Wincheap, Canterbury , between 6am and 7am on October 10.

Items were allegedly stolen from him during the incident.

The man was taken to hospital with injuries to his face, and has since been discharged.

Sam Sharp, 33, and Taylor Houston, 25, have now been charged with robbery in connection with the incident.

Both men are also charged with fraud, in relation to an allegation they used a stolen bank card in Canterbury on the same day.

Mr Sharp, of Gordon Road, Canterbury , and Mr Houston, of Whitehall Close, Canterbury , are due to appear before Medway Magistrates' Court today.

A woman in her 20s who was arrested as part of the investigation has been bailed until November 7.
