Man dies after being hit by car on A2 near Canterbury

A man in his 20s has died after being hit by a car on the A2 near Canterbury.

The collision happened on the coastbound carriageway between the junctions at Thanington and Bridge at around 11.45pm last night.

Police and ambulance crews attended but the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of a black Audi was taken to hospital and has since been discharged.

Officers from Kent Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating and are urging any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police to contact them.
