POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a fatal road accident near Canterbury last night in which a pedestrian was killed.

The tragedy happened at Fishpool Bottom on the Littlebourne Road at about 6.50pm when a 55-year-old man was struck by a car.

The road was closed and traffic diverted while an accident investigation was carried out at the scene.
