Pedestrian taken to hospital after being hit by a car in St Dunstan’s Street, Canterbury

A man is in a serious but stable condition after he was hit by a car.

Emergency services were called to St Dunstan’s Street in Canterbury at 10.44pm yesterday (January 31), following a collision between a pedestrian and a vehicle.

A witness at the scene said there were around four police cars and one ambulance present.

The road was also taped off during this time but has since reopened in both directions.

A police spokesperson said: “We were called at 10.44pm on Friday, January 31 to a report of a collision involving a pedestrian and a car on St Dunstan’s Street, Canterbury, near Whitstable Road.

“Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service.

“A man in his 60s was taken to a London hospital after injuries were reported, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.”

The ambulance service has been contacted for further information.
