Police investigate after pensioner robbed in Sturry Road, Canterbury

An elderly man has been robbed for cash in broad daylight on a main road.

The victim, in his 80s, is thought to have been threatened by two people outside a residential property in Sturry Road, Canterbury, near its junction with South Street at about 9am today.

The assailants then stole cash from the man's wallet before making off.

He was not injured during the incident.

A number of police vehicles were spotted in the Sturry Road area this morning, as officers attended the scene.

Police have confirmed they are carrying out enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident, and to identify those responsible.
