Mobility scooter driven along A2 at Canterbury pulled over by police

Police officers more used to chasing after speeding motorists along the A2 near Canterbury were presented with a different problem yesterday.

An elderly man was found driving coast-bound down the busy dual carriageway at Bridge near the Barham turn-off on a mobility scooter.

The incident happened at around 3pm.

Officers guided the man to safety.
