RAFA branch needs new members

LAST ditch bid has been launched to revive the ailing Canterbury branch of the Royal Air Forces Association - one of the oldest in the country.

Recently, meetings have been poorly attended and the branch almost inactive, particularly since the death of chairman, Laurie Weatherill, in March.

But remaining members believe there is enough potential support from ex-airmen and women in the district to keep it going.

A special meeting is being held at 2.30pm on Wednesday, June 26, at the Oddfellows Club, Orange Street, Canterbury. All ex-RAF, WAAF and WRAF personnel, and those still serving, are invited.

Anyone who cannot attend but is interested in joining should write to the RAFA regional chairman, Leslie Nower, 119 St Bart's Road, Sandwich, Kent, CT13 0AW.
