Canterbury RSPCA launches operation fund for half blind kitten

A cat has been given a new lease of life after an infection meant its eyes were at high risk of bursting.

Little Mikhail came into the RSPCA Centre in Canterbury alongside 10 other kittens and three adult cats, all in a sorry state.

The kittens had cat flu but Mikhail was suffering most with infected eyes that were at a high risk of bursting.

A vet advised the RSPCA the best course of action was to remove the worst-affected eye and the operation went ahead.

He is said to have recovered well despite his ordeal.

One of his RSPCA carers said: "He's a different kitten now. Clearly, it was so painful for him before but now he's happy, purring and super friendly."

But it left the charity with a headache as to how to pay the £550 bill for the unexpected surgery.

So supporter Natalie Archer organised a Go Fund Me page for Mikhail which has so far raised £475 of it £550 target and is appealing for the final few donations to get over the finishing line.

To donate, go to the fundraising page.

The charity says that once Mikhail has fully recovered, he will ready to find a new owner.
