Police and ambulance crews called to incident between Goodnestone and Chillenden near Canterbury

An incident on the outskirts of Canterbury sparked a large emergency response.

Police, paramedics and what appear to be officers in protective suits were sent to Station Road, in Goodnestone, on Saturday morning.

Pictures showed Station Road blocked off by patrol cars and ambulances shortly before 9am.

Kent Police confirmed its officers were called to assist the paramedics at a medical incident.

The force was called around 8.40am.

No further details about the nature of the medical incident have been released.
