Police in Canterbury Lane after stabbing at taxi rank

Canterbury city centre was swarming with police after a man was stabbed in an alleged brawl.

A fight is said to broken out just after 4pm involving a group of men in Canterbury Lane, outside Superdrug, at the taxi rank.

Two men have since been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

A heavy emergency services presence was in the city and police officers taped off the area.

Three people have been injured, with two being treated on the pavement.

Eyewitness Roni Glasphal says the fight involved delivery riders.

"There was a load of shouting and punching," she said.

"Helmets were being smashed against cars - it was all a bit nuts.

"A mob of food delivery guys chased after someone and were shouting 'grab him'.

"It seems someone has been stabbed and is being treated. It was delivery riders.

"There's been some fights here before but none have left people with serious injuries.

"I'm in quite a bit of shock at the moment."

Six police cars were at the scene.
