A man who attempted to lure a schoolgirl back to his house is believed to have struck again in Faversham.

Parents in the town have been warned today after the stranger was seen approaching girls in the Stonebridge Way area.

His description matches that of a man who earlier this month tried to lure 12-year-old Abbey School pupil Grace Smith back to his home.

She was left traumatised after the mixed race man begged for a kiss and chased her along a rail bridge near Faversham recreation ground at 6pm on Wednesday, May 10.

She said: "I knew he was a bit dodgy as soon as I saw him."

Her mum Michele added: "Grace wouldn't leave my side for two days. She couldn’t sleep and she was terrified.

"If he had grabbed Grace he could have quickly taken her to the disused railway buildings under the bridge."

In an email sent out to parents today, Robert Benson, the deputy head at Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School, said: "Another incident has been reported today.

"Yesterday evening a young male, of a similar description, approached two female students at about 4pm in the Stonebridge Way area of Faversham.

"He made a passing comment to the girls, before walking off when an adult arrived to pick the girls up.

"The police have been informed. We have asked all students to continue to be vigilant on their journeys home and to report anything that concerns them immediately."
