Three arrests after man punched near Canterbury East Railway Station by robbers

A teenage boy and two men have been arrested after robbers punched a man before stealing his belongings during a late-night attack.

The incident took place at 11.30pm in Station Road East, Canterbury, last Friday.

It followed two other offences in the city centre on the same night.

During the first, at about 10.30pm, a woman was approached by a number of men in Dane John Gardens demanding cigarettes.

A police spokesman said: "When the victim replied she had none they became abusive.

"At 10.33pm a man and a woman were approached by a number of men in Castle Street.

"One of them demanded the woman’s watch. She refused to hand it over and they left the area."

Officers have confirmed that a 15-year-old boy and two men, aged 18 and 20, were arrested on the same day in connection with the incidents and have been bailed pending further enquiries.
