Two men charged with GBH following alleged attack in Canterbury High Street

Police have charged two men following an alleged vicious assault in the city centre.

It is said to have happened at around 1am yesterday in Canterbury High Street when a man in his 60s suffered serious head injuries.

The victim was taken to a local hospital where he remains receiving treatment.

Police attended the scene and subsequently arrested Serhat Yalcin, 25, of Norman Road, Ramsgate , and Agid Yalcin, 20, of Wood Lane, Ashford .

The pair have both now been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent andare due to appear via videolink before Medway Magistrates’ Court today.
