Two people taken to hospital after crash causes huge delays on the M2 near Faversham this afternoon.

A teenage girl has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries following a crash on the M2.

The girl was left trapped in the car when it flipped over between junctions 5 and 6 on M2 shortly before 3pm this afternoon.

She was taken to Kings College Hospital in London with serious injuries.

The driver has been taken to a local hospital and is not thought to be seriously injured.

The smash left a large section of the M2 near Faversham closed in both directions shortly before 3pm this afternoon.

The air ambulance was forced to land on the motorway between junction 5 and 6 after the collision.

Fire crews were also on the scene. Only one vehicle was involved.

The crash caused huge tailbacks motorists were advised by police to avoid both carriageways.
