Fire at Hersden car wash near Canterbury sparks arson probe as cars destroyed

Two cars have been destroyed in an arson attack at a car wash near Canterbury.

At about 1.30am on Saturday, a car parked on the forecourt outside the business in Island Road, Hersden, was set on fire.

Three hours later, a second vehicle caught alight.

Fire crews rushed to the scene and managed to safely extinguished the blaze, but both cars were damaged beyond repair.

Police are working to establish what happened.

Officers investigating the case have reviewed CCTV footage, but no suspects have yet been identified.
