Ducks try to cross busy Canterbury main road

You will know the story of the chicken that crossed the road, but have you heard the one about ducks?

Video footage shows the moment a family of them was rescued after walking into the middle of Upper Bridge Street in Canterbury.

The ducks attempted to get to the roundabout at the junction of Old Dover Road.

As they did so, eyewitness Terry Blackman, 38, said they waddled in front of an oncoming bus.

"The ducks came from the grass on the other side of the road and they headed into lots of traffic," he said.

"So a passer by, who I do not know, played the good Samaritan and got them to go in a different direction.

"I was at lunch so didn't stick around to find out where they went."
