A woman has died after emergency crews were called to a village street to help.

Paramedics were not able to save the patient in the incident in Ash this afternoon.

Police and ambulances were seen in Chequer Lane in the village near Canterbury shortly after midday.

Witnesses suggested the patient was an elderly lady who walking along the road when she collapsed.

A spokesman for the ambulance service said the patient was in need of medical attention.

But despite the best efforts of the teams, they died at the scene.
