A woman in her 20s has died after being hit by a train.
British Transport Police were called to Farleigh Road, Canterbury, just after 10.20pm yesterday following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
They were joined by ambulance crews and four fire engines.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing a huge emergency services presence in the area, with response vehicles rushing down nearby Broad Oak Road.
British Transport Police has now confirmed a woman was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
A spokesman said: "This incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
